hey mates!

check out 9 new photos titled "No Way Out" in my gallery! it was a studio improvisation in a hotel room (IN BANGKOKKKKK!!!

DD) lol, the way we did it... makes it really valuable!
i used an old canon flash that cannot fire with my camera, so i stitched an infra-red receiver to it, and impaled it to a tripod, which made a job just a bit more easier! now, i had to trigger the external flash by a built-in camera one, but still it needed not to illuminate the model, only the external flash. a piece of paper held in front of it helped me cover it, but then i had to always put it in position to reflect the light to the external flash. and then, external flash fired several miliseconds BEFORE the actual exposure! so i figured a FEL (star) key would help - i had to hit 1 flash from camera before every single real flash from the external flash

man! that was annoying. then, i had to limit external flash's lightning angle, by sticking another piece of paper around it, making a bit of a corridor.. but then, i had no duck tape

so i searched the room and found some used price sticker from the bakery

i decided to use a canon 50mm lens, but, hey, i dropped it on the ground the day before (in some other fishy fashion), and it broke! into 2 pieces. and i merged them back together, only, auto focus would not work anymore... so i put the manual focus mode, and set it to f20

that's how she was always going to be focused, and that was great.

and then the model, my gf marina, put some random quantities of her own makeup onto some random places. when we started, finally, flash went outta batteries. dang!

so i went out to buy some, and some beer to help me get over this fishy thing. it helped.

and as we were shooting, i suddenly realized im sweating like hell, all this trouble with papers and flashes and lenses put me through a lot of sweating. so i thought, lets put the AC on? but no, then marina would freeze to death! man. so i continued boiling.
anyway, it was a great experience. and we are both happy with the outcome. so what do you think?
PS
it is a full view must!!
